Oh sure, I received flowers, a beautiful card, my favorite breakfast and a reprieve from the dishes for the day. But what I got more of was an earful of hollering and non-stop fussiness for the second day in a row.
I don't know what JT and his little buddy Jake have got planned for their mommies but they are killing us with this no nap business. For two days JT has gotten up in the morning and been a pretty good kid. But then lunch time rolls around and when he'd normally fall asleep he just cries. The play mat is no good. The rattles are too rattley. The swing is boring. Bouncing is out. Walking around is great. For 3 minutes. Changing the diaper doesn't bring relief either. You all know my kid by now - the breast is best and that's what kept him quiet for most of the day. He finally went to sleep sometime around 11:30.
So much for a Happy Mother's Day. There's always next year right?

Not so happy Mother's Day
