Well...

...today was interesting. The first house was cute but a little on the small end. Hence the short description. The second one is our favorite - the original owners were there because, "he started a batch of beer and we can't leave while it's brewing". Fair enough. Turns out they lived in Thailand, too, so Kevin chatted them up about Air America. It already has a doggie door, 2 treehouses courtesy of their grandkids, a "bridge" and a faux pond to the left of the property. The yard is nice, fenced in the back with a half covered deck and good trees. The third house had a couch turned on it's end blocking a hallway with a dog barking somewhere behind it. When we first walked in I felt like I was invading someone's space. The dishwasher was running, the dog or dogs barking in the background, doors to the rooms closed off. Bad vibes, man. It was the same layout as the second but not level and felt a little wonky. We cut that visit short, too. The fourth house, the one with 3 lots that I really liked, was another story once we entered. An overwhelming stench of dog and cat urine about knocked us over. JT took it like a champ and picked up the broom that was laying by the front door and did his best to sweep the stench out the door. I kept my eyes closed and nose covered until we made it to the back end where the added on sunroom was. I took another breath and said to the realtor, "Next!" and ran back inside and out the front door again. The fifth and final house was further out than we liked. Not only is a zoo right down the road but across the street is Mr. Brown's - some ramshackle BBQ place out of a house. The convenience of having Elgin Sausage any time our heart desires is quickly outweighed by the thought of our dogs never being home and probably when they did make it home they'd have farts so bad from all the meat people would feed them (or steal). The inside of this one was nice. New carpet, big kitchen and loads of cupboards. The color of the master bedroom was an atrocious lime green but that could be easily remedied. The outside shared a driveway (with the 5 neighbor cars) and there's no real fence or big trees to speak of. This would be the last last last resort.

Sounds like you might have a winner in the second one.
